Our recent local tour was a meaningful and eye-opening experience for our high school students, giving them a deeper understanding of how different sectors serve the community. Grades 9–10 visited key city offices—including the City Health Office, City Hall, the Permits and Licensing Office, and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. At each stop, professionals shared insights about their roles, answered questions, and demonstrated the teamwork it takes to keep a community running smoothly.
Meanwhile, Grades 11–12 explored topics directly connected to their future. At a financial literacy seminar hosted by the Rural Bank of San Antonio, students learned essential skills in saving, budgeting, and investing—tools that will help them make informed decisions as they move toward college and adulthood. They also toured the local police station, where they observed law enforcement operations and discussed justice and public safety with officers.
These real-world experiences brought classroom lessons to life, broadened students’ perspectives, and strengthened their sense of civic responsibility. It was a day of valuable learning, practical insights, and lasting impact.
